Georgy Gounev
Biography
Georgy Gounev was born and raised in Bulgaria. He has obtained his Master’s degree in history from the University of Saint Clement, Sofia, Bulgaria, and his PhD from the Institute of International Relations, Moscow, Russia. For 12 years Gounev taught at his Alma Mater, at the Department of History.
In his capacity of Visiting Fulbright Scholar, Gounev taught for two years at Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Currently he teaches Russian and American history in two colleges in Southern California.
G Gounev is the author of four books, including ‘Winston Churchill and the Balkans’, published in Bulgaria after the fall of Communism. His book exploring the war-time relationship between President Roosevelt and Joseph Stalin entitled ‘Fighting Evil with the Help of Satan’, has been just published by Outskirts Press, Denver, Colorado. Currently Georgy Gounev is at work on a book dealing with the impact of the Islamization of Europe on the American – Russian relations.
