Kosovo Albanian terrorist innocent says Bosnian friend
A friend of the two of the indicted North Carolina Islamic terror conspirators says that he believes his friends are innocent of the charges filed against them.
Bosnian native Jasmin Smajic residing in Cary, North Carolina, says that he is a long time friend of the arrested Bosnian-native Anes Subasic and a Kosovo Albanian Muslim Hysen Sharifi, both accused by the FBI of plotting a violent jihad and a conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and conspiring to murder, kidnap, maim, and injure persons abroad.
“I thought it was a phase,” Smajic says about how his friends grew into Islam and became more pious.
“We thought it was all talk, never did we think they had real plans to do anything, hurt anyone,” says Smajic.
Kosovo Muslim Albanian Hysen Sherifi
Smajic says that he has known the arrested Kosovo Albanian, Hysen Sharifi, since they were young teens. Smajic says that Sharifi married an Albanian woman from Kosovo and was expecting a baby and was planning to go back to Kosovo just before he was arrested, says Smajic. Sharifi wanted to join his wife who was expecting a baby, says Smajic. Sharifi “was giving up on his American life” says Smajic.
Both Sharifi and Subasic are part of an 8-men conspiracy ring, led by Daniel Boyd, that was broken up by US federal agents earlier this month.
According to the statement by the Department of Justice, “In February 2008, Daniel Boyd allegedly solicited money to fund the travel of additional individuals overseas to engage in violent jihad and in March 2008, discussed with Anes Subasic preparations to send two individuals abroad for this purpose.”
The statement says that Boyd accepted “$500 in cash from defendant Hysen Sharifi to be used to help fund jihad overseas and later showed Sharifi how to operate an AK-47 assault weapon.”
“In July 2008, Sharifi allegedly departed the United States for Kosovo to engage in violent jihad. According to the indictment, Sharifi later returned to North Carolina in April 2009, for the purpose of soliciting funds and personnel to support the mujihadeen,” says the statement by the Department of Justice.
Smajic says that his Bosnian compatriot Anes Subasic has had a rough time while living in America even though he was a naturalized citizen.
Anes’s English is so limited that he asked a magistrate on Monday for an interpreter to help him during future hearings.
Anes’s mother died three years ago and the event has allegedly triggered Anes to seek religious meaning.
Anes’s father, who goes by the ethnic Serb name of Dragan, fell into financial difficulty and poor health and Anes moved back with his father in Holly Springs says Smajic.
Smajic claims that the arrested Anes Subasic was a “refugee” from Bosnia who fled ethnic persecution by Serbian authorities during the Bosnian civil war that started in 1992.
The police in the Bosnian Serb city of Banja Luka say that the 33-year old Anes Subasic was born in a Banja Luka suburb of Laus, that his father went by a pseudonym Tutma, but that Anes is a man involved in criminal activities that include attempted murder, extortion and robbery.
The Bosnian Serb police say that in 1992, Anes changed his name to Mladen, an ethnic Serbian name, and that under both names Anes was charged 11 times on 16 counts of attempted murder, extortion and robbery.
The police in Banja Luka has also investigated Anes Subasic for an attempted murder of Stanslav Koljancic, an ethnic Serb and an owner of Banja Luka night club Kajak.
The Department of Justice has expressed concern over the “home-grown” terrorism.
“These arrests today show there are people living among us, in our communities in North Carolina and around the U.S., that are honing their skills to carry out acts of murder and mayhem,” says the Department of Justice press release.
The chairman of the New Democratic Party in Bosnia, Dzevad Galijasevic, has warned on several occasions in the past that the so-called “White al-Qaeda” or Islamic terrorists with European facial features are a growing threat to the civilized world.
Galijasevic says that Islamic terrorists with European features are based in Bosnia and Kosovo and that the job of recruiting these kinds of terrorists has been made easier by the American recognition of Kosovo as an independent state.

I am glad you mention Srebrenica,whatever took place there i have not seen any evidence that how many is the latest figure eight thousand people were massacred there.
However i believe around seven thousand Bosnian muslim troops were using the town to mount attacks on the surounding serb area i think you will know the name Oric he had already run away and some of the eight thousand would have been muslim troops trying to run away problem was they came up against serb troops and not women and kids.
