Serbia appoints NATO ambassador
Serbia has appointed Branislav Milinkovic as an ambassador to NATO.
Milinkovic will submit his credentials to NATO by the end of the year.
Officials are in a search for a Brussels office location for the Serbian mission to the NATO.
Milinkovic will be accompanied by a military official, probably a general appointed by the President of Serbia Boris Tadic.
Additional 8 Serbian officers will join the mission, 2 of which will deal with the defense policy and 6 with military matters.
The objective of the mission is to have daily communications with NATO, participation in 100 special committees and expansion of relations with this 50-member body.
Serbia’s Kosovo province is currently under NATO military occupation posing as a peacekeeping force.
Serbian Defense Ministry State Secretary Dusan Spasojevic says that changes and amendments to the country’s Law on Defense and the Army will enable the selection of military staff to be sent to Brussels.
“It is certain that our military official will be a general, who will be appointed by President Boris Tadic according to a recommendation by the Defense Ministry,” Spasojevic told Vecernje Novosti.
“In addition, there will be eight more officers in the mission, six from the military’s jurisdiction and two experts in the field of defense policies.”
In a separate development, ethnic Albanian party in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia has announced that they will join NATO irrespective of whether the country resolves its name issue with Greece which is an obstacle to the membership.
The Albanian Democratic Integration Union said that the name must be resolved by December otherwise Albanians from FYROM will join NATO while the rest of the country can bicker with the name.
DIU did not specify how they will achieve that.
FYROM plans to hold a referendum on whether the people want to change the name of their country in order to join EU and NATO. EU has warned that such referendum is not a good idea.

Those bastards in Belgrade are beyond belief,it’s up to the Serb people to take matters into their own hands and let those Quislings know enough is enough and working with those NATZO goons is just not on.
These tratoirs make me sick!!!
any Serb military officer with any pride would refuse to take part in any of this obscenity, and if they must resign or go down in history with the rest of the quislings.
what??????? not allowed to call NATO by their full name? c’mon moderator, moderating is not the same as censorship.
