Kosovo illegitimate poll ends
Hashim Thaci claimed victory in polls organized in Serbia’s Kosovo province temporarily ruled by ethnic Albanian separatists.
Thaci runs a so-called Democratic Party of Kosovo. Thaci and his rival Ramush Hardinaj traded violent exchanges before the voting.
Western powers were relieved that violence between rival ethnic Albanians did not escalate.
The separatist voting in the Serbia’s Kosovo province is a waste of time, says Serbia, because neither the vote nor any of the institutions there are legitimate.
Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said that Serbia does not recognize a single act of institutions of the so-called Republic of Kosovo that is ran by the separatist ethnic Albanians.
Jeremic said that Serbia does not recognize elections scheduled by the government of the so-called independent Kosovo.
This is a clear stand of the Republic of Serbia, based on the Constitution of the country and UN SC Resolution 1244, the Serbian Foreign Minister said.
The local elections in Kosovo are being organized in 36 municipalities, including three new ones. These are Gracanica, Klokot, and Ranilug, where Serbs make up the majority of the population.
Only a handful of states recognize Kosovo separatist proclamation that they are supposedly an independent state.
NATO troops, who are in Kosovo to supposedly keep peace, have done little to protect Serbs from being attacked by ethnic Albanian Muslims who seek an ethnically pure province with all the Serbian churches destroyed.

SERBIANNA

They’re reporting a 45% turnout rate, which even if accurate, is disappointing for a “state” claiming to be a new democracy. Turnout in new democracies, like those in the Eastern Bloc after the Cold War, was well over 80%. Not to mention the fact that turnout in Serbian areas in the north was well under 1%, and that there were many irregularities and violent clashes.
Unfortunately, even though this so called “election” was a big failure, the complicit Western media will spin it to make the Kosovo Islamic Mafia look good.
Big waste of time, as you say Brian.
Brian.
You are spot on,but many of us have never bought the western media clap trap.
This is shameful, the text is so shameful, the commentators here make shamful coments and the web page is so hatred, and fully filoserbian and filoorthodox. Shame on you!
Iliri, you are free to go to your “New Kosova Report” where you won’t be disappointed.
I wonder how many dead Serbs voted in this election to make it look like a fair turnout for the Serbs.
Good point Peggy…
Albanian criminals in Kosovo may have found votes of the Serbs they have killed…
It may depend who killed them so to claim the prize, but genrally you are right.
